JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Director for Every Member in Ministry
GENERAL SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: The Director for Every Member in Ministry will lead the effort to engage every member in an active ministry and to communicate expectations of what it means to be a member of MPPC, thinking strategically and creatively about ways to match every MPPC member with a ministry.
REPORTS TO: Directly to Senior Pastor, with dotted line to Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Possess the skills, ability and insight necessary to develop, implement and oversee a program which will engage every member into the MPPC church body.
· Self-starter with high level of initiative and strong organizational skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency in maintaining accurate and thorough data.
· Relational and outgoing with experience and commitment to teamwork and team building: Must be both enthusiastic and patient.
· Comprehensive knowledge of church programs and offerings.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with other church leaders and staff.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word & Excel with the ability to learn church operations software.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Takes a leadership role in executing and refreshing MPPC strategic goals relating to Engagement.
· Develops methods to effect culture change by engaging and connecting every member of MPPC (old and new) in church life and active ministry.
· Ongoing development of the STRIDE program, and initiate a church-wide implementation of this class to identify and put into action members’ spiritual gifts.
· Engages and supports the Every Member in Ministry team in its work to connect every member in church life and active ministry.
· Supports and continues to oversee the work of the new member processes with clearly articulated expectations of membership and pathways to involvement with the life and ministry of MPPC.
· Leads the initiatives to train and engage staff and lay ministry leaders in the role each must play in assimilating and engaging both new and existing members.
· Develops and/or maintains systems and processes which encourage and track integration and assimilation within MPPC.
· Works with Long Range Planning Ministry to develop a long-range plan for existing MPPC campus to encourage Every Member in Ministry and fellowship.
· Coordinates initiatives across multiple entities and works to integrate engagement and assimilation into the work of every staff member and every ministry team and church leader.
CRITICAL SKILLS:
· Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality, when necessary.
· Must be highly organized.
· Demonstrates effectiveness in motivating and influencing others into action, while inspiring trust and loyalty.
· Builds and maintains effective, productive work teams that successfully meet MPPC ministry priorities.
· Demonstrates skills in navigating and managing a wide variety of priorities and opinions.
· Seeks to understand through developed listening skills.
· Experience in the development and execution of training programs, and project management is a preferred.
SPIRITUAL COMMITMENT:
· Requires a deep personal commitment to Jesus Christ and the ministry of the Word and Sacrament that it is consistent with PC (USA) and Reformed theology.
· Must be a person who leads with Christ at the center of his/her life.
· Committed to the mission and core values of MPPC
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
· Four year degree and related experience preferred
· Ordained and non-ordained individuals will be considered
