WOMEN'S MINISTRIES

Women of all ages are invited to utilize their gifts in a host of ministries aimed at transforming Mt. Pleasant into a more Christ-like community. Grow with us!

  Presbyterian Women (PW)
Presbyterian Women (PW) is a national organization within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) of more than 300,000 women.  For more than 200 years, PW groups have strengthened the Presbyterian Church and have played a major role in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with the world.  Our church participates in this organization in a variety of ways and women of all ages are welcome to join us as we attempt to live out our faith in an inclusive, caring, community. We welcome your participation in PW through monthly "Circle Meetings." For more information about Circles and the many ministries PW supports, please contact Kay Browne @ Kathryn_browne@hotmail.com or click here.

Baby Guild
The MPPC Baby Guild, a part of Member Care Ministry, supports new parents before, during, and after the birth or adoption of a child. We share in your joy during this time of change as your family grows! Part of our service and support includes placement of the rosebud in Sunday worship for each new child and delivering it to your family afterward, providing a meal in those first exciting weeks, and coordinating social gatherings for new parents throughout the year.
To inform us of an upcoming or recent birth, or if you would like to serve new parents with us, please contact: Rachel Epps 843-367-9136, raeepps@gmail.com

Young Mothers Bible Study
This Bible study meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the parlor. Childcare is provided. We are a group of late twenty to early-forty year old mom's with children who range from newborn to nine years of age. Our group consists of approximately 25  women, but we welcome new women and new mothers to our group at any time! Guided by Shirley Hendrix, our group is currently studying the Old Testament and is a good place for connection and service.  We support Windwood Farms, the Christmas Angel Tree, and assist with Children's Ministries, the Easter Egg Hunt, and Sunday School.  For more information, please contact: Jessica Webb 704-651-1582  jessicaw@alumni.unc.edu

Sunday Evening Bible Study
This inter-generational Bible study meets on Sunday from 5:30pm-6:30pm in the church parlor. We read and discuss books by Christian authors to help us better apply principles of Christian living to our daily lives.  We welcome visitors and look forward to growing with you.  For more information, please contact: Betsy Hills 843-568-1001 r.e.m.hills@gmail.com

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Do you enjoy knitting or crocheting? Twice each month a group of ladies gathers in the Parlor to knit and crochet Prayer Shawls. These shawls are given to the sick and those that need some comfort. Over the past few years, shawls have been taken to The Village at Summerville (formerly Presbyterian Home), the Hope House, and others by special request.  Anyone is welcome to be a part of this ministry! Join us on the first and third Friday mornings from 10am to 12pm in the Parlor.  For more information please contact: Beverly Hogan 843-849-6843

Layers of Love Quilts

Once a month a group of ladies gathers in the Fellowship hall to make children's quilts for the very ill patients at MUSC Children's Hospital. Many of these children have terminal or life-threatening diseases or conditions who need the warmth and comfort of a soft quilt prayerfully made for them. Join this group of ladies (men and teens are welcome too). We gladly accept donations of cotton fabric in prints or solids, thread, quilt batting, and  financial contributions.  For more information,
