How can you be a part of PW at MPPC?

Traditionally women can become a member of a circle and the benefits of being a circle member are many:

  • Fellowship with other women of the church
  • A network of care and support for each other
  • Thought provoking Bible study each year with other women of the church
  • Participation in community projects

Recognizing that the women of our church have many obligations, being a PW member does not have to be the traditional circle member. Throughout the year PW has many opportunities for participation:

  • Workshops for prayer shawls and quilts
  • Night shelter food preparation
  • Spring Tea
  • Health Kit assembly
  • Thank offering

If you are not able at this time to commit to being in a circle that meets for the monthly bible study please consider being on our email list so you can be aware of opportunities through PW throughout the year so that you can participate as you are able.

Here is an Overview of the Study for 2011

In the nine lessons of Confessing the Beatitudes, the 2011–2012 Horizons Bible study, Margaret Aymer invites us to to consider the Beatitudes as they might have been heard when Jesus spoke them—during the time of the Roman Empire. While great in many respects, Rome was a cruel regime under which many suffered. We are invited to identify with those who are poor and oppressed and, at the end of each lesson, to enter into a process of confession.

Presbyterian Women (PW) is the women’s organization of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Providing programming and resources, PW offers a variety of ways for women to nurture and live out their faith, engage in mission, work for justice and peace, and build an inclusive, caring community witnessing to the promises of God.

Presbyterian Women offers women in the church meaningful ways to live out their faith in the midst of a caring community of women. Any group of women who enjoys mission, Bible study or advocacy could become a PW group.
