MPPC ADULT CHURCH SCHOOL

Our Adult Church School classes meet from 9:45--10:45 am during the Church School hour year round. Most adult church school classes meet year round; with a few classes take a break in the summer. There are new, special topics classes each summer that run for just the summer months. All classes are open to new comers at any time.

Visitors are welcome and encouraged to shop around -- choose by topic, teacher, location, or make up of the class.

SAGE COUNCIL

What is The SAge Council?

SAge is the MPPC's ministry with older (not old) adults. The capital "S" stands for "second," since researchers identified a "second middle age" of adulthood, representing a new dimension and vitality of life available for older adults in the twenty-first century. Through this ministry Mt. Pleasant Presbyterians and others of the community who are fifty-five years or older may find new possibilities of learning, witness and service.

The SAge Council is the coordinating body of older adult ministries, initiating new directions and strengthening existing ministries such as the Pacesetters, the Lunch Bunch and the Shepherd's Center of East Cooper. These groups offer opportunities to enjoy fellowship, entertainment, good food, educational programs and service opportunities. They provided lunch for the Ronald McDonald House, they sing in the SAge Choir, have painted Early Childhood Center rooms, and performed numerous other tasks that require the hard work of many volunteers. The Council also coordinates communion for the homebound, provides short-trip transportation for any church member who is unable to drive and assists with minor home repairs.

Pacesetters: Meets the 2nd Friday of each month. September -- May & a summer special in July. These 55s and over gather for an incredible catered meal and program of entertainment and fellowship

Lunch Bunch: meets the last Monday of the month at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Come Join Us for a potluck lunch with our eldest members!!

WOMEN'S RETREAT

Each January, women in the church go away for a special weekend of Bible study, music, teaching, laughter, fun, shopping, eating great food, and building community.

YOUNG ADULTS

"Our Purpose is to welcome and invite young adults, singles & couples, into our church family through fellowship, Bible Study and service as we all grow in our relationships with Jesus Christ."
