WORSHIP MINISTRIES

at Mt Pleasant Presbyterian Church

/files/images/mppc_front.jpg

Worship is the cornerstone of our life here at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian.  It connects us to God and to one another; it rejuvenates us for the Christian work of our daily lives and is an outpouring of our thanks for all the good gifts God has given to us.  In worship we learn, we respond and we participate.   We give back to God our best praise and thanks.  Our worship style has been referred to as "relaxed traditional" and incorporates the rich heritage of the Presbyterian worship practices with a flare for making faith relevant for today's culture.

Worship Ministries shall be responsible for planning and oversight of the church's worship and music in acknowledging God's presence in the world and life. It will facilitate the session's responsibility to provide for the worship of the people of God, including the preaching of the Word, the sharing of the Sacraments, and for the music program in keeping with the principles in the Directory for Worship, and to appeal to the presbytery for the duly trained and authorized elder under the provisions of G-11.0103 in those extenuating circumstances where an ordained minister of the Word and Sacrament is not available to meet the needs for the administration of the Lord's Supper. (Form of Government G-10.0102d.)
