CONFIRMATION

FAITH STATEMENT

Some basic components of a fiath statement

What do you believe about:

  • Grace
  • Sin
  • Salvation
  • Church
  • Forgiveness
  • Repentance (asking)
  • Responsibility to others
  • Who is Jesus for you
  • The bible
  • the sacraments
  • Prayer in your life
  • The trinity
  • Worship
  • Confession
  • Church membership
  • How has confirmation changed you?

A good faith statement will have most of the above components.

Here are some other things to keep in mind:

Your faith statement should:

  • Be typed and in paragraph form
  • Use the words "I" and "me" insted of "us" or "we"
  • God is a proper name, capitalize it
  • You don't need to end with Amen unless you have written a prayer
  • Use Jesus in present tense. Jesus is alive and part of your life right now
  • Try not to tell stories tell what you believe
  • It is good to quote scripture but a little goes a long way
