FAITH STATEMENT
Some basic components of a fiath statement
What do you believe about:
- Grace
- Sin
- Salvation
- Church
- Forgiveness
- Repentance (asking)
- Responsibility to others
- Who is Jesus for you
- The bible
- the sacraments
- Prayer in your life
- The trinity
- Worship
- Confession
- Church membership
- How has confirmation changed you?
A good faith statement will have most of the above components.
Here are some other things to keep in mind:
Your faith statement should:
- Be typed and in paragraph form
- Use the words "I" and "me" insted of "us" or "we"
- God is a proper name, capitalize it
- You don't need to end with Amen unless you have written a prayer
- Use Jesus in present tense. Jesus is alive and part of your life right now
- Try not to tell stories tell what you believe
- It is good to quote scripture but a little goes a long way
