2008-2009 Confirmation Class

 

Our major goal for confirmation is to enable the young people to make a public profession of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This is an important milestone in their faith journey.

 Sept. 7         Parent & Youth meeting

Sept. 14      Session 1  -  review: catechism, commandments,

                                       worshiping, communion

Sept. 21     Session 2  -  Baptism, Church seasons

Sept. 28      Make-up Session

Oct. 5         Session 3  -  Belonging to God

Oct. 12       Session 4  -  Awesome God

Oct. 19       Session 5  -  Who is Jesus

Oct. 26        Make-up Session

Nov. 2         Session 6  -  Can We Talk?  (prayer)

Nov. 7-9      Retreat at Bethelwoods

Nov. 16       Session 7  -  Glory Be!   (Worship)

Nov. 23         Session 8  -  Grace and Gratitude

Dec. 7         Session 9  -  Tradition and Transformation

Dec. 14       Make-up Session

Jan. 11       Session 10  -  I Will with God’s Help (Holy Spirit,

                                           commitment)

Jan. 16-19  Winter Youth Trip

Jan. 25        Interviews  (5 – 7 pm)

*Feb. 8      Confirmation Sunday and Luncheon  (New date)

 

All sessions held in Lower Level of Grace Hall 4-5:00, dinner 5-5:30. PYC will be 5:30-7:00. If you need to sign up for a make-up session please call Tina Sease at 881-2156.  You have to make up your missed session that month.

  

Requirements:

1.  Attend all classes

2.  Attend Sunday School and Worship regularly

3.  Acquire 20 Service Hours

4.  Attend Retreat in Nov. (earn 6 service hours)

5.  Complete three sermon outlines by Jan. 11 (on website)

6.  Service hours due by January 25th

7.  2 Copies of Faith Statement due by January 25th

 8.Attendance Record due January 25th
