MPPC Disaster Response

In accordance with PC(USA) guidelines and examples of other churches, MPPC has developed a disaster plan.

All members of MPPC are encouraged /files/images/720px-Hurricane_Hugo_1989_sept_21_1844Z.jpgto develop their own plan, including evacuation options. If members need help with this they should contact their deacon.  If you need contact information for your family's deacon, please contact the church office at (843) 884-4612 or contact the Pastoral Care Ministry Assistant, Mary Ann McDermott at mmcdermott@mppc.net.  The American Red Cross also offers resources to help in the planning for a disaster.  Please click here to view their information.

Volunteers In the Event of An Emergency

Individuals who would like to provide assistance in the event of an emergency may contact Trish Snead at the church office, so that your name will be put on a list.  You may contact Trish at (843) 884-4612 or tsnead@mppc.net.

MPPC Disaster Response Forum

In the event of an evacuation, MPPC will track member’s whereabouts and status through a disaster response forum/message board.  This will be an online forum where members can go onto the MPPC website and update people as to their whereabouts and needs.  Also the message board will inform evacuees of the local status of Mount Pleasant and of MPPC. All members are encouraged to use this means of communication. This message board will be activated by the MPPC Disaster Response Coordination Team in the event of an emergency and will be located at http://www.mppc.net/forums.  There will also be a prominent link on the front page of the MPPC website.
