DISASTER ASSISTANCE

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?

GIVE:

The greatest gift we can give right now is the offering of our money used by on the ground partners through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA). It feels so good to collect canned food and mail it but because the needs are rapidly changing, regional staff people can purchase what is needed and distribute it more effectively.

Checks: Payable to MPPC and in the memo line write "Disaster Relief" (gifts will be distributed through PDA)

Online: www.pcusa.org/pda to make gift by credit card.

STAY INFORMED:

The best way to know how the Presbyterian Church (USA) is responding is to go to the denomination's website at www.pcusa.org.  Many churches have been flooded or destroyed by hurricanes and flooding.  One report was in New Orleans alone 36 churches were under water.  Rebuilding of churches will be coordinated through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.

Continued Support: We all feel committed to help in the long-term.  Here are some upcoming ways you can help right here in Mt. Pleasant.

First Sunday of Every  Month:  2 Coins A Meal: At every meal set aside two coins for each member of your family to go to hunger relief both for Katrina Relief and hunger around the world.  Bring your coins to church on the 1st Sunday of each month.
